The start of this puppy’s story is unfortunately not an uncommon one, but luckily it all ended well.
A man trying to throw two puppies under the wheels of passing cars was reported to the officers of the Midland Police Department in Texas in the early morning of April 16, 2015.
“A witness on scene told officers the man threw this little one into the back windshield of their vehicle,” the MPD announced on Facebook.
One of the puppies was saved by the officers and they took good care of her afterward. Unfortunately, the other pup ran away before the policemen could get to it and take it to safety.
We have no information if they were able to find it later or not.
Thanks to the testimony of the witnesses, the MPD was able to find the suspect and put him into custody under the charges of animal cruelty.
The saved puppy, which resembles the Azores Cattle Dog, was a “little shaken” from what happened but luckily had no injuries. The officers decided to name her Marley and they took her to a shelter at first. However, Lt. Brian Rackow grew so fond of Marley during their brief time together at the station that he decided to adopt her just a couple of days later!
Congrats to the MPD and Lt. Rackow in particular for saving and taking such good care of Marley. Share the story with your friends and family, it will surely brighten their day!
